A coalition of faith-based organizations is asking Congress to take immediate action to fund efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic overseas. “If we don’t beat COVID-19 everywhere, we can’t beat it anywhere,” said Catholic Relief Services, one of the letter’s signatories. The letter stated, "At this critical moment, we cannot turn our back on our brothers and sisters around the world. As a nation, we have both the ability and obligation to provide resources which will prevent the worldwide spread of this disease and alleviate the suffering of those afflicted – and in so doing, we are certain it will also protect us here at home as well." United Way, YMCA, King County and FareStart are partnering to provide meals for more than 4,800 children in low-income housing complexes and they need our help. You can be part of the effort by signing up to pick up, drive, and deliver meals to families' homes (deliver to the doorstep, no-contact). The Welcome Table serves lunch to neighbors in need in the White Center area every Saturday at noon. In addition, snacks, toiletries, and clothing are handed out. Support the meal by donating non-perishable food, household supplies,, men’s clothing, and Bibles. Drop off donations between 11-11:30am in the back parking lot before guests arrive. Our Safe Parking lot has guests again! We have had two people staying with us over the past month and one just got into their own Tiny Home! Both have recently experienced some challenges and are grateful for a safe space to be, especially in this cold weather.
