The youth at St. Mary's Catholic Church are going to spend a week this summer participating in the Youth Migrant Project, working with, serving, and getting to know migrant workers in the Skagit Valley. They want you to join them! There are spots available for high school youth (incoming 8th graders through graduating seniors) who would like to participate in this amazing experience! The trip is July 20-25 and the cost is $200 per person (scholarships available; free for accompanying adults over 21). Contact Nick Reynolds at youthminister@stmarysseattle.org or 513.374.6425.
This May, OLG's Life, Justice and Peace Commission hosted a Homelessness Discussion Night that was attended by 35+ people from the West Seattle community.
Some great facts and resources were handed out in both English and Spanish. You can access this information by clicking on the links in the "Documents" list in the left-hand column of the Outreach page.
As a result of this evening, OLG is forming a committee to address homelessness. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jennifer at jibach@olgseattle.org.

Next Saturday, May 17th, 135 OLG parishioners will take place in our first ever Service Day. They will visit six different sites in Western Washington, volunteering in a variety of ways from habitat restoration to troop support to migrant ministry. All participants are encouraged to attend the 5:30pm Mass that evening to end the day together in prayer. For those of you who cannot participate in the Service Day, please keep the volunteers in your prayers and consider coming to Mass that evening.

Each summer, Our Lady of Guadalupe participates in the Lettuce Pray program. Through this program, we collect fresh fruits and vegetables to be shared with our local food banks. Weekly collections will begin again in July but in the meantime you can get ready by planting your own garden. With just a small patch of dirt, you can make a big difference!
