On March 22nd, OLG closed the parish office so staff and parishioners could travel to Olympia to participate in Catholic Advocacy Day. Fr. Jack, the staff, and a good number of parishioners attended the event, where participants prayed together, got briefed on current legislative issues and priorities, and met with their legislators to advocate for health care, housing, economic justice and religious liberty. It was a great experience and we look forward to going again next year!

Did you know that OLG is a “plastic free” campus where plastic water bottles, soda containers and other plastics are to be eliminated as much as possible? Ever wondered why? While extremely convenient, plastics pollute the environment (it takes about 450 years for a beverage bottle to disintegrate) and cause health issues as they break down and re-enter the global food chain. Catholic social teaching calls us to Care for God’s Creation.
