The Catholic Worker is an intentional community in the tradition of the Catholic Worker Movement that seeks to live out the Gospel of Jesus by practicing radical fellowship with the most poor and destitute, and together embody a way of living that subverts empire and, through prayerful resistance, proclaims the immance of God's Kingodom.
The Seattle Catholic Worker is currently offering an open community meal every Saturday (except the 2nd weekend of the month, when it is on a Sunday). Anyone who would like to join them in the preparation and eating of the meal is more than welcome. They are also hoping to open a drop in center in their basement, where people could come inside, be warm, do laundry, take a shower and enjoy the company of friends. Currently, they have an open community gathering on the last Sunday of the month at 6pm. This is a great opportunity for interested people to meet the Catholic Worker members, share table fellowship and hear more about what they're doing and where they're headed.
