Three of the six local, proposed coal export terminals, which would send 150 million tons of coal to China, have withdrawn their proposals. Coos Bay and St. Helen's in Oregon and Greys Harbor in Washington are no longer on the table. Community action has made a difference.
The three remaining proposed sites are Cherry Point and Longview in Washington and Port of Morrow in Oregon. To learn more about Coal Exports, visit the Earth Ministries website or read a recent article from The Progress, featuring our own Frank Handler.
