Volleyball Open Registration!
Welcome to OLG CYO Volleyball 2017. We are sending out the registration/sign-ups early to allow plenty of time due to the Christmas holiday. Registration will close at 10:00 p.m. on January 20, 2017 (Updated). Boys volleyball teams are combined by grades - 5th and 6th grade will be one team and 7th and 8th grade will be one team. Cost is $90 per child. Sibling discounts do apply to second and third children from the same family. Practices will begin Monday, January 30, 2017 with the first matches beginning Saturday, February 25, 2017. Teams will practice twice a week Monday through Thursday. There are no Friday practices. Exact days and times will not be known until closer to the start of practice. The volunteer coaches of the teams will select their practice times so it is conducive to their work schedules.
For those of you who are unaware, 4th grade volleyball is offered for a full-season and it is CO-ED. Yes, the boys and girls play as one team in 4th grade.
Please sign-up early as we need to get an idea of how many teams we will have in each grade. If the numbers warrant, we will have multiple teams in the same grade.
We are looking for coaches for the following teams: 4th grade for Co-Ed and 5th/6th grade boys and 7th/8th grade boys (if we have enough boys to form a team). If you are interested in being a coach, you must be current on your Archdiocesan guidelines for Safe Environment - this includes your background check, the Policy and Ethics forms, and the Safe Environment training class. You must also have knowledge of the game of volleyball and be willing to attend coaches clinics that are provided by Seattle CYO Athletics to help further your skills as a coach. You will earn 30 commitment hours.
In the event we don't have enough players for one team, we will seek out help from neighboring parishes to combine teams so kids have a chance to play.
