The women in our shelter will be ‘sleeping out’ on Thursday, June 11th from 9pm to 9am outside of the Chinook Building (401 5th Avenue) where the Executive’s office is located. If you would like to support this effort, you are invited to bring snacks or breakfast to the women, go downtown to visit for a while, or spend the night in solidarity.
SHARE would also appreciate your advocacy with King County and United Way as they seek funding from those two sources.

They are currently experiencing a dire financial situation that could force them to close down their shelter network. Rising costs and funding cuts have contributed to their situation. They are in need of stable, ongoing and large-scale support. To raise awareness, is kicking off a month-long Educational Campaign starting on June 9th. The campaign will be comprised of a series of rolling, one-night shelter closures to help the wider community see what might happen if were to close. Each shelter will relocate one night during this month to a part of the wider community that could benefit from education.
