During the year, OLG helps collect money to support Catholic Relief Services. Some of that money is currently being put to use to help Syrian Refugees throughout the Middle East. As the civil war rages on in Syria, more than 1.5 million refugees have fled the violent conflict to neighboring countries. Catholics Confront Global Poverty, a joint effort of CRS and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, is urging us contact our Representatives and Senators to express concern over this situation. They are asking Congress to work to achieve a ceasefire, support robust funding for humanitarian emergencies and ensure access to humanitarian assistance with impartiality in Syria.
