New Parish Ministry – Welcome the Stranger!

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish has initiated a new English language tutoring ministry to serve adult, low income immigrants and refugees in our neighborhood. We already have two pairs meeting and are looking to expand. As encouraged by the teachings of our Church to ‘welcome the stranger,’ you are invited to serve as an English language tutor. Free training is scheduled for early April. Tutors and students meet twice per week for at least 6 months. On-going support is provided. This ministry is a partnership between OLG, West Seattle social service agencies, and St. James English as a Second Language Program.
