Day of Prayer for Survivors and Victims of Human Trafficking
January31,2014
On February 8th, the US Catholic Bishops are urging Catholics to participate in the Day of Prayer for Survivors and Victims of Human Trafficking. We are invited to pray for the emotional, physical and spiritual healing of those who have been trafficked, and make a personal commitment to work against human trafficking. This day coincides with the feast day of St. Josephine Bakhita, who was kidnapped as a child and sold into slavery. Once freed, she dedicated her life to sharing her testament of deliverance from slavery and comforting those who were poor and suffering.
