Not all heroes wear capes! Hawa Minta was at home when she received the call. Her mother-in-law’s village in Mali had been attacked by armed men and nearly 200 people were on the run. Hawa, did not have much to offer, but she had a yard. At first the villagers slept under her trees and ate what little food she had. Neighbors dropped off donations. Hawa’s husband contacted every aid worker he knew, asking for help. With funding from the USAID, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) responded to their call with cooking supplies, food and tents. CRS has partnered to provide lifesaving assistance to more than 210,000 displaced people like those Hawa is helping. Visit www.crs.org to see how you can help!
