Plans are underway for the 5th Annual OLG Day of Service on April 6. If you’d like to help with the planning, promotion, and implementation for the final couple of months, please join us for our next meeting on Friday, February 22 at 8:30am in the Pastoral Center. This counts for volunteer hours in the school and you get to meet some fun people!

Through apheresis, you only donate a specific component. Giving an individual component is extremely helpful for our community’s supply and allows us to maximize the use of your time and blood donation. Like with a whole blood donation, please eat a good meal, drink plenty of water, and bring a photo I.D. Additionally, please do not take aspirin or products containing aspirin within 48 hours of your apheresis donation. From registration to cookies, please allow 120 minutes for platelet donation and 90 minutes for plasma donation.

All current Eucharistic Ministers and Sacristans are required to attend one of two trainings (other date is Monday, 2/25) to update their understanding of procedures.

All are invited to this free, sit-down meal on Sunday, February 24 at 1pm in the Walmesley Center. Come meet others in the community and enjoy a wonderful meal. This month’s meal is provided by Hope Lutheran.

OLG Immigrant Ministry is excited to host Professor Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos, PhD from the Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture at Seattle University.   Together, we will Explore our Collective Memory with regards to our immigration history.  Most of us in the U.S. today are either immigrants or the descendants of immigrants. With the exceptions of our Native American brothers and sisters and the descendants of enslaved free peoples from Africa, many of us or our forebears immigrated to this country seeking a better future and freedom from persecution, violence or poverty.     Reflecting on the history of U.S. immigration in light of Catholic Social Traditions can remind us why fighting for policies that honor the dignity of our migrant brothers and sisters is a matter of faith and a matter of justice.  Suggested donation $5.
