Serving our senior and sick and homebound community, it has been such a blessing to see this ministry grow. We are now providing three weekly prayer and communion services to residents of The Kenney, Bridge Park, and Elizabeth House communities. Several parishioners have joined me in this ministry generously sharing their gifts and talents with those who are unable to attend mass on a regular basis. We are also fortunate to have ministers providing weekly visits to community members with messages of hope and communion.
One of my personal beliefs is that we need to extend our arms around those who are not able to attend mass on a regular basis. It has been so gratifying to see parishioners say "yes" to this call to serve. We now have members who are driving individuals to mass on a regular basis so that they may celebrate the Eucharist with their parish community. In my expanded role at OLG, I look forward to creating a more robust transportation ministry that offers even more homebound parishioners the opportunity to worship in community.
